It’s what’s on the inside that counts, right? This is true especially when it comes to what undergarments you wear!

Soft, natural, and breathable fibres are what everyone wants to experience when they are choosing a sustainable lingerie brand. Of course, lets not forgot comfort and support too! The better the quality of fabric, the longer lasting the garment will be too.

From calm neutrals to delicate lace, the options out there are endless. But what about choosing lingerie brands that focus on sustainability? Are there brands out there that focus on using recycled materials or sustainable practices when it comes to making lingerie? Look no further, here are some of my new faves that are a must to try out:

Studio Pia

Lingerie with a conscious? That is Studio Pia mission. When you think of ethical lingerie, you might not conjure up the most beautiful of images. However, that’s where this brand proves us all wrong. They have sultry, feminine and provocative designs that you would never think could be produced from certified organic peace silk and deadstock fabrics.  The designs are produced in their French couture embroidery house which gives the underwear garments that ”va va voom” factor.  My fave product has to be their organic stretch silk satin Naga Longline Bra. The hefty price tag is worth it in my view for the quality of the material. Not to mention with every item sold, they plant one tree in the Indonesian rainforest. It’s a win win!

Organic Basics

Looking for everyday underwear that comes in an array of neutral tones?  Look no further than organic basics. Easy to wear and no frills, this brand has got you covered for your everyday basics. They have everything you could want, from their invisible bra collection to their recycled materials line.  To quote from them, they put sustainable fashion at the centre of everything which is abundantly clear from the cool collections they produce. Definitely a brand to check out.

Ayten Gasson

This brand is just so delicious, if ever there was a better way to describe a brand. They produce stunning, delicate underwear which is timeless with a vintage feel. They have an ethical lingerie collection that boasts garments made from sustainable and organic fabric like bamboo jersey, silk and organic cotton. My favourite is their Ava Black Organic Bamboo and Lace Bralet. Just sooo pretty!

Alexander Clementine

Who would have thought you could wear the ocean? Say whaaaat?! Yes the ocean! Alexander Clementine have cleverly crafted undergarments from fabric produced exclusively from renewable resources such as wood (Tencel™) and seaweed (SeaCell™)! They source their seaweed exclusively from the Icelandic Fjords and then hand make all their garments in London. Their suppliers are certified by Oeko-Tex Class I, STeP, REACH compliant, ISO 9001 and 14001 meaning they maintain the highest standards in protecting the environment and their employees and recycle or reuse 98% of all their waste. Good work guys!

Y.O.U underwear

This underwear brand is all about giving back. They have bras for any occasion, ranging from cool neutrals to bold African inspired pieces such as the Green Mara design Woman’s organic cotton bralette. They use organic cotton and operate a slow fashion model. One of their incentives includes buying a pair of Y.O.U underwear which means two pairs of underwear are donated to Smalls for All- a Scottish charity that collects and distributes underwear to vulnerable women and children across Africa and the UK. The brand has also won many awards for their charitable and sustainable efforts. One brand to certainly watch out for in the future!
